The charitable arm of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA), serving as a link between physicians and the community, expanding the pool of medical professionals who attend to underserved populations.
Our Mission
Since 2008, The Patient Care Foundation's scholarship program has provided financial assistance to more than 50 medical students. Additionally, the PCF works to expand the pool of medical professionals by encouraging and mentoring a new cadre of community-based physicians poised to deliver high-quality healthcare to underserved populations.
In order to improve patient access to care, treatment, and health education, the Patient Care Foundation of Los Angeles County (PCF) supports the aspirations of medical students across LA County and promotes community service and mentorship by:

Awarding scholarships to inner-city graduates to minimize the financial obstacles to attending medical school,

Providing loan repayment funds to new physicians who practice in underserved areas of LA County,

Working with Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA) members to encourage, inspire, and mentor a new cadre of community-based physicians poised to deliver high-quality health care in areas with significant gaps in access and services.

In order to improve patient access to care, treatment, and health education, the PCF supports the aspirations of medical students across LA County and promotes community service and mentorship by awarding scholarships to inner-city graduates attending medical school, providing loan repayment funds to new physicians who practice in underserved areas of LA County.
Support
Your donation helps to provide medical school scholarships and stipends to alleviate the financial pressure of students who were raised in Los Angeles County, with the hope that they will return to serve their communities upon completing their residency. Over the past years, PCF has awarded over $100,000 to deserving candidates, each scholarship ranging from $1,000-$8,000.

We invite you to attend the Los Angeles Healthcare Awards in April of 2021.
The annual Los Angeles Healthcare Awards honors LA County’s top physicians, healthcare leaders and institutions for their work to improve healthcare in LA County. Proceeds from the 2019 Los Angeles Healthcare Awards benefited crucial medical student programs at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU).
